Architectural Bridge Lighting with DMX512 RGB LEDs and Neon Flex
Project Video
A circular pedestrian bridge becomes a luminous gateway through coordinated points, lines and colour in Shenzhen’s Longhua District.
Project Introduction
Where architecture, movement and colour give a city gateway its identity.
Located in Shenzhen’s Longhua District, this landmark pedestrian bridge lighting project brings RGB pixel lights, DMX512 RGB linear lighting and LED neon flex into one architectural composition. Completed in October 2023, the illuminated ring gives the district a distinctive nighttime gateway.
A Landmark Gateway in Shenzhen Longhua
Above the intersection, the bridge forms a luminous ring within Longhua’s urban landscape. Traffic passes beneath it, pedestrian routes meet around it, and the surrounding buildings provide a backdrop to its distinctive circular form.
As a landmark gateway, the bridge gives this familiar crossing a recognisable identity. Its lighting connects the scale of the city with the experience of approaching and crossing the structure.
Dynamic Lighting That Follows the Bridge Geometry
Repeated triangular patterns give the ring its visual rhythm. Crisp outlines reveal the architectural geometry, while pink, violet, cyan and warmer accents introduce colour across its surface.
Seen from above, the lighting describes a complete circle. Viewed along the surrounding streets, it becomes a ribbon of light suspended within the cityscape. These different perspectives make the architecture central to the visual experience.
Connected Lighting with 4G IoT Cloud Control
The installation uses 4G IoT cloud-based lighting control to support connected management of the lighting system.
Construction began in 2022 and was completed in October 2023. The project gives Longhua a gateway that connects pedestrian journeys and contributes a memorable illuminated form to the district’s nighttime identity.
Lighting Products Used for Architectural Bridge Lighting
The installation features 31,260 DMX512 RGB pixel lights, 1,708 metres of DMX512 RGB linear lighting and 5,650 metres of LED neon flex, complemented by wall washers and warm-white floodlights.

Architectural Bridge Lighting FAQs
What lighting products are used on the Longhua pedestrian bridge?
The project combines RGB pixel lights, DMX512 RGB linear lighting and LED neon flex, with wall washers and warm-white floodlights providing complementary illumination.
How does the lighting highlight the bridge’s architecture?
Illuminated lines define the circular form and repeating triangular geometry. Colour across these patterns creates a distinctive composition that can be appreciated from the surrounding streets and elevated viewpoints.
What control system is used for the bridge lighting?
The installation uses 4G IoT cloud-based lighting control to support connected management of the project’s lighting system.
When was the Longhua bridge lighting project completed?
Construction began in 2022, and the project was completed in October 2023.
What information is needed to discuss a similar bridge lighting project?
Provide bridge elevations and sections, installation locations, viewing distances, the intended lighting effects and any known power or control constraints. These help establish the scope of an architectural lighting proposal.
