Taiji-Inspired Stadium Roof Lighting

The stadium roof gives the Chinese Taiji motif an architectural scale. Its contrasting, complementary forms unfold across the lighting composition, bringing the idea of balance into a contemporary visual setting.

The building becomes part of the story. The roof’s sweeping form gives the imagery a sense of scale, while the changing patterns create a meeting point between a familiar cultural symbol and modern visual expression.

A Distinctive Architectural Identity After Dark

The roof lighting is complemented by illumination across the building and its surroundings. Together, these layers connect the main visual composition with the wider architectural setting, giving the stadium a distinctive character after dark.

The project shows how lighting can carry a cultural idea through architecture, creating a scene rooted in tradition while opening a new chapter in Guiyang’s nighttime landscape.
